NYC Fashion Week Fall 2010 by Fashion Expert Esther Nash and editorial asst. Fabulous Shellywww.esthernash.com enashdesigner@gmail.com ALL AROUND TOWN:
Couture Fashion Week produced by my dear friend Andres Aquino. This season, Andres Aquino made sure to have it all and at the Waldorf Astoria , red carpet interviews, NYC Charity Event Fashion for Autism, Art Reception, Silent auction, the Edwing D’Angelo fashion show and after party. The colors were silver/puter/cadet/grey/charcoal/camel/black/blue. Yeohlees’ designs playful geometric shapes with soft knits. Layers were the key this collection. EDWIN D’ANGELO, presented a collection for “it” boys and “it”girls, sporting society clothes coupled with walking sticks and pure breed canines. Ladies, finally a designer who creates fashion for couples that will make others take double looks. Lovely gowns that reveal womanly curves in a sexy elegant manner, truly chic. In our front row seats, with shelly to my right selecting which gowns she would love to wear in Miami, St. Tropez, St. Barts, Cannes, Punte Del Este, Rio De Janeiro, Israel and Dubai. STYLE 360: MALAN BRETON: New Beginnings is the Indian inspiration of this collection. Unisex looks, modern with a touch of vibrant color. A live Indian song and dance performance set the mood. Pour L’homme, matching blazer, suit, trouser looks for men in venetian red, blue, yellow, and nude colors. Pour Les Femmes, bustier corsets with mini-skirts in eggplant and venetian red. The collection was brilliant, colorful, and unique. ATOCHA Collection by NICOLE ROMANO: Presented at Espace, a cocktail reception and gourmet tidbits created by chef Jason Munger, Hosted by Seth Greenberg of Capitale Management, her jewelry line showcased faux gold and pearl necklaces and a tuxedo dress with opaque stockings , tres chic.
YEOHLEE, this designer knows how to treat its guests. A chartered bus waited outside MBFW to whisk us to the undisclosed location of the Yeohlee show and returned us promptly in time for our next scheduled fashion show. Her look was vibration, mathematical calculations/repetition as texture are key elements to her futuristic collection. HELEN YARMAK: Another season of luxurious genuine fur in loud vibrant colors like orange and royalty colors like purple, ruby red, emerald green and royal blue. As well as neutral tones. Range from vests, coats, short sleeve. Carnivale Annabelle by ANNA McCRARY with 24Kt jewelry by Kate Maguire. Each piece was sweet, feminine, and sensual and innocent. Flirty baby doll Lingerie with ruffles. Wool sweaters , hooded capes, above the knee with pockets. Silk jumper dress and satin pant suit. Gathers, pleats and puff sleeves. LORICK: The looks were extremely lovely and theatrical, inspired by silhouettes with shadows that are fun and playful. The colors were earthtones in fabrics of silk, chiffon, tweed and fine wools. A very elegant and sophisticated collection. LORIS DIRAN: Loris and I both presented our collections at BK fashion week last season, so I am familiar with his work. Held at the Bowery Hotel, the line was out the door and down the stairs. Loris presented a stunning runway unisex collection for confident men and free spirited women. The fabrics were silk, velvet, satin, cashmere and twill. Loris showcased luxury to the maximum, a classic collection. Each piece is a winner with taste and excitement. IRINA SHABAYEVA: A fantasy of fur and feather come to life. Draped wraps in fur and feather dresses. It was a lovely dream and the models floated on the runway.
