NIKE AND (RED) UNITE TO LEVERAGE THE POWER OF SPORT TO FIGHT HIV/AIDS IN AFRICA




Leading footballers join forces to announce a partnership designed to get people to "Lace Up. Save Lives"

London, UK (November 30th, 2009) On the day before World Aids day some of the world's best footballers joined Bono at an announcement of the partnership between NIKE, Inc. (NYSE:NKE) and (RED).

Didier Drogba (Chelsea), Joe Cole (Chelsea), Andrei Arshavin (Arsenal), Marco Materazzi (Inter Milan), Denilson (Arsenal), Lucas Neill (Everton), Clint Dempsey (Fulham) and Seol Ki-Hyeon (Fulham), came together in London today to announce a partnership between NIKE, Inc. (NYSE:NKE) and (RED).

This unique partnership delivers a two-pronged approach to fight HIV/AIDS in Africa by delivering funds to support programs that offer education and medication on the ground and will harness the power of sport to engage youth around the world in the fight against AIDS in Africa.

In making the partnership announcement, Mark Parker, President and CEO of Nike Inc., Susan Smith Ellis, CEO, (RED) and Professor Michel D. Kazatchkine Executive Director of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS , Tuberculosis and Malaria were joined by footballers from around the world and U2 vocalist and (RED) co-founder Bono, to emphasize the need for global action and participation to eliminate AIDS in Africa.

"The fight against AIDS in Africa needs great brands to drive awareness and engagement,' said Susan Smith Ellis, CEO, (RED). 'Nike is the right partner to connect education with sport, and in so doing help drive social change, prevention and understanding of HIV/AIDS. We are thrilled to have them with us."

The Award This is the 6th edition of the Venice Movie Stars Jaeger-leCoultre Award realized by AQA Communication. Born from an idea by Angelo Quarti, the competition is meant to enhance the work of image professionals, who collect the most important moments of the Venice Film Festival through their pictures. Throughout its editions the competition has been welcomed with ever growing enthusiasm by photographers from all over the world. This year the president of the Jury will be Douglas Kirkland, creator of some of the most famous pictures related to art and cinematography, among which the famous portraits of Marilyn Monroe. More than 70 photographers take part to the 6th edition with more than 450 pictures that have been collected, examined by a technical committee and selected for the exhibit and the catalogue. Title sponsor of the award is Jaeger-leCoultre, Canon and Lancia are supporters. Besides, the award has the patronage of Regione Veneto. Milan, November the 13th, 2009 The ceremony will take place during the BEspoke, the new luxury exhibition in Milan, held in the Palazzo del Ghiaccio from 11th to 15th of November. The winners' names will be given on Friday 13th of November at 6.30pm. This year the title sponsor and the organization have decided to double the appointment and spotlight on Milan, where some of the most important photographic agencies have their headquarter. Many famous guests will join the ceremony and the prize will be given by Riccardo Scamarcio and Isabella Ferrari.

Rome, December the 10, 2009 As usual the award will be held at the Casa del Cinema in Rome: the exhibit is going to open officially on the 10th of December and in that occasion the catalogue will be presented. The exhibit will remain until end of February 2010.

57th Annual BMI Country Awards Now Available on Image.net

U.S. performing right organization BMI recognizes the songwriters and publishers of the past year's most performed BMI country songs on U.S. television and radio.

Kris Kristofferson was honored as a BMI Icon at the U.S. music rights organization's 57th annual Country Awards, the oldest awards saluting country's top music makers. The event took place Tuesday, November 10 at BMI's Music Row offices in Nashville, the black-tie, invitation-only gala dinner also celebrated the songwriters of the past year's most-performed country songs from the extensive BMI catalog.





Tornados Joins Stewart Haas Racing

With five wins, two poles and both its cars in the Chase for the Championship, Stewart-Haas Racing has certainly performed on the racetrack in its inaugural year of operation. The performance has extended beyond the track as well, with the two-car NASCAR Sprint Cup Series team having announced a two-year partnership with Tornados, a brand of Dinuba, Calif.-based Ruiz Foods, in a press conference Saturday at Phoenix International Raceway.

Tornados, the bold taste of savory meats, real cheeses and zesty sauces rolled in a crispy seasoned crust, will adorn Ryan Newman's No. 39 Chevrolet Impala as a primary sponsor for five Sprint Cup races beginning in 2010, and when not serving as a primary, will take associate sponsor status on the car's lower-rear quarterpanel. Teammate Tony Stewart will also carry Tornados on a portion of the lower-rear quarterpanel of his No. 14 Office Depot/Old Spice Chevrolet Impala.





CNN Announces Finalists for 'CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute'

Celebrity Presenters, Performers Will Honor Everyday Citizens Changing the World On November 16th CNN announced performers and presenters who are slated to appear at the third annual "CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute," which honors everyday citizens who are making a difference in their communities and beyond. Hosted by CNN anchor Anderson Cooper from the Kodak Theater in Hollywood, the program will air globally on Thanksgiving, Thursday, November 26, at 9pm ET on CNN/U.S., CNN International and CNN en Español.

Celebrities scheduled to present include: Nicole Kidman, Kate Hudson, Neil Patrick Harris, Pierce Brosnan, Dwayne Johnson, Eva Mendes, Randy Jackson and Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Carrie Underwood and Leona Lewis will each perform at the gala. Additional appearances will be announced in days to come.

The Top 10 CNN Heroes, as selected by the Blue Ribbon Panel, were unveiled by Anderson Cooper on CNN last month. The public will select the "CNN Hero of the Year" via voting at CNN.com/Heroes, which concludes on November 19, at 6am ET. During the November 26 broadcast, the Top Ten Heroes will each be awarded $25,000, and CNN will reveal the CNN Hero of the Year, who will receive an additional $100,000.
